PB & Jam Burger
The ultimate American burger! Seasoned and char-grilled topped with cheddar, cider-bacon jam, and peanut butter aioli.
Ingredients
- 4 8oz beef patties
- 8 cheddar slices
- 4 burger buns
- 8 cooked bacon slices
Cider-Bacon Jam
- 1 lb bacon, diced
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 medium red onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups apple cider
- ½ cup brown sugar
Peanut Butter Aioli
- 1¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp kosher salt
Instructions
- Make the cider-bacon jam. Render the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Drain all but a tablespoon of fat from the skillet. Add the onions and cook until well caramelized. Add the garlic and continue to cook for another 5 minutes. Next add the cider, brown sugar, and vinegar. Reduce by half. Add the bacon back into the pan. Turn the heat to low and cook until jam-like consistency.
- Make the aioli. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Heat the grill. Season burger patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Grill the burgers to desired temperature, melting cheddar during the last few minutes of cooking. Toast the buns lightly. Rest the burgers for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Spread the peanut butter aioli on the bottom halves of the buns. Top with burgers, two slices of bacon, and cider-bacon jam.
