Brioche French Toast
A diner classic! Soft, thick-cut brioche dipped on our signature batter then griddled to golden deliciousness.
Ingredients
- ½ cup half and half
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- ¼ cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp Triple Sec
- ½ tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 slices Brioche bread, thick sliced
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- butter, for griddle and for serving
Instructions
- Whisk the first seven ingredients together in a shallow bowl or baking dish.
- Mix the cinnamon and granulated sugar together in a separate small dish.
- Heat a griddle or cast iron pan over medium heat. Add a small pat of butter. When sizzling you are ready to add the french toast.
- In batches, dip the brioche slices in the batter and coat fully. Allow excess to drip off, then transfer to the hot griddle. Sear on both sides until golden brown.
- Serve dusted with powdered sugar, sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar mixture, and topped with softened or whipped butter.
