Camp Crackers
Our signature flatbread. Simple, delicious, time-tested.
Ingredients
- 2 large pita bread
- ½ cup cheddar, grated
- ½ cup mozzarella, grated
- 3 oz Gorgonzola, crumbled
- 2 tbsp garlic oil (see note)
- 2 scallions, sliced
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400℉.
- Brush the pitas with garlic oil. Sprinkle evenly with cheddar and mozzarella, then the Gorgonzola. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake until cheese is melted and edges are crisp and golden (about 5 minutes).
- Slice into 8-12 pieces and garnish with scallions.
Chef Tips!
Score two pantry ingredients at once by making your own garlic oil. Slice two heads of garlic through the median and lay face-up in a tight-fitting baking dish. Submerge with a neutral oil (canola, soybean), cover with foil, and bake at 300 degrees F until the garlic is caramelized and fragrant.
Both the roasted garlic and the oil can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
